Women to Women Mentoring

The Woman to Woman Mentoring Program is based on Titus 2:3-5

“Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. 4Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.”

It is the belief of First Baptist Church that God desires older Christian women to build into the lives of younger women and encourage them in their walk with the Lord.  Young women need to see authentic, committed Christians who daily live out their faith.

Mentoring is based on one’s life experiences and is a deliberate transfer of wisdom from one person to another.  It calls for commitment, focus, and single-mindedness of a person willing to pour her life, faith, and knowledge into another.

Mentors are not trained professional counselors, not part of the caring fund who meet financial needs, and not part of the helping hands group who provide transportation services and other practical help.  Mentors are spiritual coaches, encouragers,
and prayer partners.
